Abstract

The decolourization of Acid Orange 7 dye, an acid azo dye, using Titanium dioxide photocatalysis was studied. The highest average percent colour reduction was observed to be 26.05 %. Analysis of Variance of the 2⁶ Full Factorial Design of Experiment pointed out that initial dye concentration has the largest effect on the colour reduction of the dye. Moreover, all parameters are rendered significant. All parameters showed direct proportional relationship to the colour reduction except initial dye concentration which showed inverse relationship. With all two-way parameter interactions considered, fourteen of fifteen interactions were determined to be significant.
