Dr. Alfafara received his BS Chemical Engineering (magna cum laude) from the University of San Carlos; his MS Environmental Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok; and his PhD Fermentation Technology from Osaka University. He is a registered chemical engineer with graduate degrees in Environmental Engieering and in Fermentation Technology.  His research interests include biological wastewater treatment, environmental engineering and biochemical engineering.  He has special interests in electrochemical processes for wastewater treatment and optimizaiton/scale-up of fermentation processes.
