The UPLB Department of Chemical Engineering held a Dinner-for-a-cause last March 9, 2019. The event took place at UP Cornell (UPCO) Social Garden and was attended by different Alumni from older batches to the most recent ones. The activity is part of a weeklong celebration of the ChE Week to mark the 34th anniversary of the institution of chemical engineering in UPLB.
Proceeds of the event will be used for general student support programs, such as the first ever Undergraduate Thesis grant to aid the financial needs of students who are currently taking ChE 200. Part of the proceeds will also support the UPLB ChE Quizcon Team, who join annual competitions such as Malayan Colleges’ Annual Inter-Collegiate Chemical Engineering Showdown, UP Diliman’s Inter-University Chemical Engineering Quiz Show, and the Chemical Engineering Quiz Bowl sponsored by PIChE National.
