aProf. Maria Victoria P. Migo-Sumagang received her BS Chemical Engineering from Los Baños (magna cum laude and class valedictorian) and also her MS Chemical Engineering Major in Pollution Engineering (receiver of Academic Achievement Award) from UP Los Baños. She has 6 years of industry experience, before transferring to the academe to pursue a teaching career. Her undergraduate and masters thesis are both related to biofuels and bioenergy; specifically, biodiesel production, and biomass direct combustion for heat generation. She was a co-study leader of a project on solvent extraction of oil from petroleum nut. She was an MS thesis scholar of the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). She conducts life cycle assessment studies using the software SIMAPRO. She has experience in computational fluid dynamics modelling using the softwares Phoenics and ANSYS. 

Research Interests: Wastewater Treatment, Bioenergy, Environmental Science, Life Cycle Assessment
